(Winnipeg, Manitoba, September 29, 2008) – Sanomune Inc. has been selected as a winner of the 2009 annual Canada’s Top 10™ Competition (www.topcanadiancompanies.ca). Winners will gather on October 7th at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa to hone their presentation skills, meet local and regional investors, and prepare themselves for the first leg of the 2009 Investment Forum series.

Sanomune is a private biotech start-up focused on neurological and autoimmune diseases. The Company has two products entering Phase IIa clinical trials and a variety of product candidates in various stages of development. The Company’s core technology is based on the proprietary repurposing of a safe, orally delivered biological to treat multiple large market indications. Sanomune’s lead product, SAN-61, is a potential first-in-class treatment that triggers neural stem cell proliferation while targeting both amyloid plaque and neurofibrillary tangles, the dual hallmark pathologies of Alzheimer’s disease.

“Sanomune is honoured to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top 10 Life Science Companies,” stated Sanomune’s President, Rick Pauls. “Independent validation from a jury of experienced Canadian and US venture capitalists is highly valuable and we are proud to be included among such a respected, high-profile group of companies. As we continue to develop our pipeline and advance our Phase II clinical programs for Alzheimer’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis, we look forward to exploring the unique opportunities this award will create.”

Winners are chosen by an independent expert panel of Canadian and U.S. venture capitalists. Originally developed to promote the 10 most promising life science companies from across Canada to Canadian and international investors and partners, the competition now showcases Canada’s life sciences, cleantech and technology sectors. Working in partnership with Canadian Consulates in Boston, New York City, San Diego and San Francisco, winning companies will participate in targeted investment forums in each city, providing them with an opportunity to meet with Venture Capital investors who have expressed an active interest in financing these companies. Since its inception in 1999, competition alumni have secured more than $522M in venture capital financing.

Canada’s Top 10™ is organized by OCRI (Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation) and presented by Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. The winners include a wide variety of companies from the life science, cleantech and technology sectors.

“OCRI is pleased to play an active role in the growth of so many exceptional Canadian companies,” said Michelle Scarborough, Vice President, Investment and Commercialization, OCRI. “This is a successful program as evidenced by the investment in past winners. Through our ongoing outreach to the rest of Canada, the best companies from three key innovation sectors can continue to benefit from exposure to VC’s, other investors and potential strategic partners.”

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA – July 17, 2008 – Sanomune Inc, a private biotechnology company developing novel treatments for neurological diseases, is pleased to announce that it will be presenting data on its lead compound, SAN-61, at the International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease (ICAD) 2008. SAN-61, a safe and well-tolerated biological with an established history of human use, has been shown to drastically reduce amyloid beta toxicity in rat brain neuronal cultures. In the second half of 2008, Sanomune plans to file for regulatory clearance to start a 60 patient phase IIa clinical trial of SAN-61 aimed at testing a variety of cognitive measures and relevant biological markers associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

“We’re honoured to have been selected to present our results at the ICAD Hot Topics session,” said Rick Pauls, Sanomune’s President. “When combined with existing clinical data on SAN-61 and our recent data regarding MMP-9 activation, the evidence we have accumulated suggests SAN-61 could be an ideal Alzheimer’s therapy.” In addition to targeting soluble and fibril amyloid, in-vivo
research also appears to suggest that SAN-61 is involved in neuroregeneration and the regulation of tau protein through GSK-3beta inhibition. “This could be a therapy with multiple promising points of intervention.” Sanomune’s data can be viewed during ICAD’s Hot Topics Poster Session on Wednesday, July 30.

About ICAD – The Premier Alzheimer Conference
This meeting will bring together more than 5,000 researchers, physicians and care providers from 60 countries – the largest group of international leaders in Alzheimer research and
care ever convened.
